UNDER 7 YELLOW TEAM RESULTS

U7’s Rawcliffe ‘v’ Tadcaster Riverside Albion

1st Game report
Tadcaster, sporting their brand new kit, lined up for the first game with Eden in goal, Lewis and Emily in defence, Megan and Daniel in midfield, James and Harry up front.
Tadcaster started the game very strongly and immediately put the home side under pressure. Rawcliffe struggled to cope with James’ pace and ability to run with the ball, while Harry was keen to take on the defenders whenever he got the chance. Lewis and Emily were untroubled at the back with the midfield pair of Megan and Daniel supporting the strikers as well as getting back to defend when needed. Despite most of the possession which lead to a string of corners for Tadcaster, the first half ended 0-0.
Lewis replaced Eden in goal for the second half, and once again it was all out attack from Tadcaster, but without being able to find the breakthrough they deserved. Any chances Rawcliffe had to attack were soon snuffed out by the outstanding Tadcaster defence. In the last couple of minutes Harry once again skipped through the Rawcliffe defence, beating two or three defenders before sending his shot agonisingly wide of the post. That was to be Tadcaster’s last chance and the game ended 0-0.
Despite the 0-0 scoreline this was the Yellow team’s best all round performance of the season. In a game they dominated from start to finish they did everything they were asked to do (apart from score!).

2nd Game report
All change again for the second game with Megan in goal, Emily and Daniel defence, Harry and Lewis in midfield, Eden and James up front.
Tadcaster put in a brave performance against Rawcliffe’s ‘A’ team and the fact that they found themselves very quickly 2-0 down was probably more down players changing positions than any poor play.
The team stayed the same for the second half and started to gain in confidence. With the wind at their backs Tadcaster tried to force their way back in to the game, but unfortunately, it was Rawcliffe who scored again towards the end of the game to make the final score 3-0 to Rawcliffe.

Man of the Match: Harry – his best individual performance of the season and can count himself very unlucky not to have scored. Well done Harry !
